Ultrathin Single-Crystalline Boron Nanosheets for Enhanced Electro-Optical Performances

Large-scale high-quality single-crystalline ultrathin boron nanosheets (UBNSs) were fabricated through an effective vapor-solid (VS) process via thermal decomposition of diborane (B2H6). The field-emission, electronic transport, and photoconductive properties were then thoroughly investigated. The strong combination performances of low turn-on field, high current density, good stability, favorable electron transport characteristics, high sensitivity and fast response time to illumination reveal that the UBNSs have high potential applications in field-emitters, interconnects, integrated circuits, and optoelectronic devices.
